Inspired by the natural world that surrounds her studio in California’s coastal mountains, artist Dawn Wolfe uses handmade and found papers to create beautiful, three-dimensional collages. Incorporating materials such as vintage wallpaper, hand-watercolored paper, and prints of vintage kimono patterns, Wolfe assembles each of her works by hand. This tactile process brings a sense of balance to the artist, a digital marketer by day. Wolfe often creates custom pieces, transforming personal mementos and keepsakes into one-of-a-kind works of art.
Why we love this

Seen first at One Kings Lane: This breathtaking black-and-white image is part of Dawn Wolf's venture into photography. For this series, she acted as the director/producer, collaborating with a pro stylist to perfect each subject and enlisting Mark Hansen of Hansen Digital in San Francisco to shoot with one of his specialty scientific cameras. Signed, dated, and numbered, this limited-edition piece is printed with an incredibly sharp 800-dpi resolution on heavy cotton rag paper with hand-torn edges and displayed in a custom shadowbox frame. Arrives ready to hang.
