Why we love this
Exceptional piece by Kevin Hendrickx. Hendrickx was a Belgium artist born in 1857 in Antwerp. From a little age he enjoyed the sea, especially the North Sea. He attended the Fine Arts Academy in Liege where in short time he become the leading marine artist. Exhibited in Brussels, Amsterdam and Hamburg. By 1895 he was regularly commissioned by the major shipping magnates for work. This work housed in its original frame is dated 1897. Signed lower right.
