Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this
From Bauhaus to Our House by Tom Wolfe. New York: Farrar, Strauss & Giroux, 1981. First edition, seventh printing. Includes dust jacket. Wolfe's well-researched, often humorous and sometimes snarky critique of Modernist architecture.
