Welcome to Prints with a Past. Since 1997 we have shared our love of original antique and vintage prints with our clients. The business grew out of our enjoyment in antiquing while living in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and collecting prints for our home and to give as gifts. We take great pride in presenting a diverse selection of original engravings and lithographs from the late 1700s through early 1900s, and sharing the story about each one. —Your hosts, Nancy and Dick Bossler.
Why we love this
Pair of early 1800s hand colored engravings from a folio of insects illustrated by the British entomologist and botanical artist John Curtis (1791-1862). Shown is Telephorus cyaneus (1828, with the Mountain Primula) and Latridius elongatus (1830, with the Bee Orchis). Prints are unique in that Curtis combined the illustrations of the beetles with a plant native to the British Isles. Each print measures 6"L x 9"H. Includes a certificate with additional information and original text pages.
