Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this
All the Kings Men by Robert Penn Warren. Harcourt, Brace & Co., 1947, early printing. 464 pages. Includes jacket. Warren's modern classic story of Southern politics, power, and corruption won the Pulitzer for fiction while the film based on the book took home 3 Oscars, including best picture, in 1949. Wear to jacket, light wear to spine ends, light page tanning.
