Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this
The Evolution of Modern Sculpture by A.M. Hammacher. Abrams, 1969. First edition. 383 pages with 404 illustrations (27 tipped-in color plates). Definitive work on modern sculpture starting with Rodin through the mid-1960s. Minor jacket wear.
