Located in Midtown East Manhattan, the Phyllis Lucas Gallery/Old Print Center has one of the largest collections of antique prints and fine art in New York City. With a long and storied history, our gallery holds the distinction as the first publisher of Salvador Dali’s lithographs in America and has been among the foremost of the city's dealers in antique works on paper since its founding in 1928.
Why we love this
Set of four original etching restrikes of watercolor bouquets by French-Belgian artist Pierre-Joseph Redouté. Published by the Paris Etching Society in the 1940s and printed on Rives BFK French art paper. Each bouquet shows a variety of stunning and accurate blooms, buds and leaves. Redouté was one of the main artists at the 18th-century Royal Court of Marie Antoinette and nicknamed "The Raphael of Flowers." The Paris Etching Society moved to NYC and became the Phyllis Lucas Gallery 1928.
