I love old books. I like to read them, to look at them, to decorate with them, and to use them for the perfect present (the ultimate form of recycling). I have been arranging my book shelves by color for quite a while and after helping friends and clients do the same, and seeing the growing trend, I decided to sell decorative book collections, thus DecadesofVintage. For me, decorating with books is like painting a picture or telling a story.
Why we love this
London Historic and Social, a two-volume illustrated set, by Claude De La Roche Francis is a summary of the history and social ways of London prior to the 1900s. The red cloth hardcovers feature gilt embossed armor and borders on front covers, gilt title and floral embellishments on the spines, as well as top edges gilt. Volume I has 416 pages and volume II has 456 pages including an index and fold-out map. Philadelphia: John Winston, 1901. Light cover wear
