A gorgeous Japanese painted gold leaf Byobu screen is depicting a lovely winter scene with Mandarin Ducks. 4 panels. Gouache, ink and watercolor on gold leaf over paper. Silk border. Lacquered black wood frame with beautifully engraved metal hardware showing dark age patina. Paper on back. A very good condition - a small repair as it's shown on the images, strong hinges, sturdy, clean, minor age wear overall. Japan, c. 1920s-1940s.
