A late 19th cent painting by Victor Wagemaekers (1876-1953) depicting a village street so typical of the artist. He was a realistic painter and water colorist of landscapes, genre scenes and interiors. He was particularly active surrounding Brussels and the Campine. He exhibited in 1899 at the art society "Le Sillon" and is permanently exhibited at the museums of Antwerp and Turnhout. The carved wooden frame is contemporary with the painting and probably original. The art measures 24.5"x20.5".
