Why we love this
Circa 1900. This lovely rug is lightly distressed or shabby chic with low pile that adds to the patina and beauty of this handwoven Turkish rug. Colors: oatmeal or taupe. Sivas in eastern Anatolia is best known for interpretations in light tones of Persian, especially Tabriz, designs. The pile is usually low and the weaves are medium fine. They are decorative in the best sense, but are actually quite hard to find.
