An unusual carved walnut nut cracker from the black forest of Switzerland and the mid19th century. It is carved in the form of a stylized acorn and walnut in the shell and is operated by placing a nut in the opening in the walnut shell portion and then twisting the acorn part till the screw mechanism crushes the shell of the nut. It is in v. good as found condition and retains its original finish. It works perfectly and has none of the cracks or chips commonly found in this style of nutcracker.
