A period Post-Impressionist-style oil still-life of a young woman shown reclining and gazing towards the viewer. Estate stamp, verso, for Victor Di Gesu (American, 1914-1988) and painted circa 1955. A winner of the Prix d'Othon Friesz, Di Gesu studied in Paris with Andre L'hote at the Academie Chaumiere. He exhibited widely and with success, including at the Louvre and the Salon d'Automne in Paris, the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Unframed.
