Growing up in Vitebsk, young Chagall was fascinated by the stained glass artist Mr. Riskin at his village temple. Russian by birth, Marc Chagall was educated in St. Petersburg and Paris, eventually emigrating to France in 1923. His early influences were Russian expressionism and French cubism, but Chagall created a style that was unique to the 20th century. His mastery of color suffuses his paintings and prints as well as the stained glass made for European cathedrals. Rare Posters, Inc. holds one of the most comprehensive collections of fine art museum and exhibition posters and prints. These beautifully intact, evocative prints offer all of the power of an original work of art.
