The artist reworked the design by dropping and adding colors, then gave the entire work a distressed effect using UV inks. The result is a bohemian feel that recalls vintage Morocco. The image is printed on reclaimed wood siding. The artist collected wood from older white barns across the United States and carefully selected each piece for a specific image. Given the wood’s age and previous use, it is likely to have irregularities such as knots, stains, or an uneven surface. These imperfections add character and patina to this fine work of art. Parvez Taj is a visionary in the art of interior embellishment. To achieve his original images, he freely mixes photographs, software, and a variety of substrates. The materials and techniques that Taj favors -- recycled wood, UV-cured inks -- have low impact on the environment. The resulting works are mesmerizing and evocative. Born in Canada, Taj currently lives and works in Los Angeles. His works are entirely made in California.
