Why We Love This

This striking chandelier is fashioned from hand-hammered steel, powder-coated to give it a white glow. The design takes inspiration from the pronged trident carried by Triton, the Greek god of the big seas. The pronged upper register of the chandelier rises in a long elegant curve, while six wave-like lines at the lower register are curved inward, holding the bulbs. This object is a wonderful example of DeWulf's deft, sculptural handling of raw materials. It comes with 10 feet of chain, Edison-style bulbs, and a canopy.

About James de Wulf

James DeWulf works with the most advanced technology to transform raw materials--steel and reclaimed scaffolding, in addition to concrete--into furniture that is both spare and expansively beautiful, often sculptural. He rigorously refines each piece in his Santa Monica studio to achieve perfect proportion, the finest finish, and a strong, contemporary style. DeWulf's reputation is quickly expanding; his diverse roster of clients includes Tom Ford and Oprah Winfrey and his work is on display in boutique hotels and architectural projects, such as the Malibu Tin House, designed by Frank Gehry.
