The Eastern-inspired motif on this piece is clean and graphic yet also quite classic, making the rug easy to mix with either traditional or contemporary decor. This rug was hand-tufted in India from a soft combination of New Zealand wool and viscose. In 1931, George Bashian started buying exceptional old and antique rugs, which he then repaired and sold. By the 1970s, he expanded from Persian rugs to also include rug collections from countries such as China, India, Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Today, the company is a leading importer and creator of Oriental rugs.
