Nell Waters Bernegger explores the physicality of paint as relationships between washes of color and form develop, ultimately resulting in compositions that show how stillness and activity coexist. Through painting, she aspires to illuminate themes on autonomy and the weight and lightness of being. Nell studied at Parsons New School of Design, the San Francisco Academy of Art, and earned a BFA in painting from SUNY Purchase. In addition to painting in her studio and being a mom, she provides therapeutic arts for patients at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
