As described by McNaught Fine Art

A bright and animated oil on canvas showing figures seated beneath the gaily striped awning of a Parisian café. Other figures are standing, conversing and walking in an old square. A charming and evocative Parisian scene, created with intuitive, alla prima brushwork and a vibrant and complex palette. Painted circa 1960. Signed lower right, "L. Mahe." Unframed.

About the Seller

McNaught Fine Art

A 1986 graduate of Christie's Fine Arts of London, I headed the fine art department of a West Coast auction house for three years before opening my own gallery in 1989. Every painting I represent is selected with care. I believe fine art to be an integral part of the fully-lived life, illuminating both our vision and our values for our children. As time passes, our paintings become heirlooms, enriched with our shared memories. Many things come and go. Art abides. —Anthony McNaught
