Nuestra Señora del Carmen (Our Lady of Mt. Carmel) is depicted in this colorful 19th-century oil painting. In the lower quadrant, several anima solas (departed ancestral souls) are awaiting judgement in the flames of purgatory, pleading for her mediation. Displayed in original 19th-century wood frame. Canvas, 12"L x 8"W.
