    As described by William Jeffrey Gallery

    Midcentury abstract by Riva Helfond, who studied at the Art Students League with Kuniyoshi and Sternberg. Helfond worked for the WPA beginning in 1936 and taught lithography at the Harlem Art Center with Jacob Lawrence and Romare Bearden. Her work has been exhibited at MoMA, the National Academy of Design and at the Met.
