Why We Love This

A substantial and period watercolor on silk showing an elegant group of travelers on horseback dressed in costumes of the Edo period. Now mounted as a four-panel lacquer-framed screen (byobu) with chased and engraved metal bosses. Painted circa 1925. Each panel, 72"L x 17.5"W.
