Why We Love This

Oil painting by Richard DeTreville (American, 1864-1929) of California oaks in a poppy field next to a foothill lake. Signed lower right. DeTreville was born in South Carolina and settled in Stockton, California. Shortly after 1910, he moved to San Francisco. The most prolific of early California painters, his small landscapes are invariably of the San Francisco Bay area, Yosemite, and Northern California. Image, 9.50"L x 13.50"W.

About Robert Azensky Fine Art

A 1979 graduate of the University of California in aesthetic studies and fine art photography, I have spent many years photographing the California mountains and coast. I met Ansel Adams in 1979 at his Carmel studio and have been collecting California plein air paintings since 1986. I offer a wide variety of artists and genres and hope you enjoy my passion for paintings and sculpture.
