As described by Phyllis Lucas Gallery/Old Print Center

Copper plate engraving culled from An Universal System Of Natural History Of The Tribe Simia, Or Animals Resembling Man by English physician, astrologer, and occultist Ebenezer Sibly. Dating back to 1795, it was originally created by J. Chapman and is based off of sketches by Johann Jacob Ihle. They're distinguished by the 18th-century style of anthropomorphizing primates and other species.
