A vintage lithograph of an original image taken from a trade catalog of cutlery published in Sheffield, England, at the turn of the 20th-century by Pawson and Brailsford. Henry Pawson and Joseph Brailsford founded the publishing company in the late 1800s and gained a reputation for the quality of their catalogs, books, and maps. Their most familiar work is the Illustrated Guide to Sheffield and Neighbourhood which has recently been republished. Silver and gesso Florentine frame.
About the Seller
The images which make up Trowbridge Vintage Collections come from Martin Trowbridge’s personal print archive, which he has built up over the past 30 years. Martin is an avid collector of copperplate engravings and has an impressive trove of more than 20,000 images locked away in the vaults at his London gallery.
