Why We Love This

Charming antique store sign. Harold D. Smith was born in Bangor, Me. around 1900 and was a farmer until the mid-40s when he opened a retail shop selling window treatments. This sign hung at the store.

About English Building Market

Timeless treasures for today’s lifestyle. We love finding local goodies and giving them new flair. We just recently happened upon a pile of old "get well" letters from the1930s. The beautiful 3rd-grade penmanship on wide-lined paper and the heartfelt notes were worthy of framing in simple black frames. Hung as a group they make a statement on the wall. Our carefully curated collection has local flavor, as 90 percent of our merchandise is found within 15 miles of New Haven, CT.
