An Austrian scalloped oyster plate with a five-shell compartment and a one sauce well. Made by the famous Austrian Marx and Gutherz factory in Carlsbad between 1890 and 1900. The transfer is enhanced with a gilt edge and border. Signed on the back. Hanging hardware included. Marked "Marx Gutherz Carlsbad."
About the Seller
When Ilon Specht was a creative director in NYC she alleviated the stress by collecting antiques. Constantly. "If it was beautiful, and I had a place for it, I bought it. And, if I didn't have a place for it, I bought it." Over the years, she used her finds to decorate. But, as much as she did, she couldn't decorate as fast as she could hunt and gather. So, in 2000, Hacienda was born, dedicated to the diversity of beauty. Run by Martin Sierra. And filled by Ilon.
