As described by Laurie Zook Arts & Furnishings

Beautiful pressed and cut flint glass candy compote with domed lid. Flint glass has a characteristic gray-lavender hue. Delicate air bubbles are obvious inside the glass, a testimony to its age and craft. Superb for holiday ribbon candy, cookies, or treats. From the latter part of the 19th century.
