As described by JJ Jenkins the Fabric Diva

Authentic early-19th-century French cretonne, a heavy cotton floral and stripe textile fragment. This textile is very similar to an American bark cloth or pebble cloth, and is a beautiful piece for the serious textile collector. In wonderful condition and has many uses including interior or costume design. Fabric colors are subtle pinks and reds, subtle turquoise, black, tans and taupe on a textured dobby weave cotton.
