As described by Christopher de Lotbinière's Rare Books

Tropic of Capricorn by Henry Miller. London: John Calder,1964. First UK printing, with one line of publication information crossed out on copyright page, common when British books were sold in the US. First printed in Paris in 1939, the first American ed. appeared in 1961, but was widely unavailable due to the book's racy reputation. Miller succeeds in creating an amoral viewpoint and stream-of-consciousness approach considered radical at the time. Very collectible in this condition.
