As described by Christopher de Lotbinière's Rare Books

Constant Reader by Dorothy Parker. NY: Viking Press, 1970. First printing. In the late 1920s and early '30s, Dorothy Parker wrote a series of pieces in The New Yorker under the heading Constant Reader. She praised what she valued, but could not resist turning her considerable wit against anything she found inferior. 31 of the original 46 pieces are gathered here, for the first time in book form, ranging from serious reviews to absurd flights of sometimes cruel humor.
