    As described by MCME

    Thomas Eakins by Roland McKinney. Crown Publishers. 1942. Presumed First Edition. 112 pp. Eight color plates, 75 halftones. With tucked-in very rare copy of Eakins' 1912 letter to Charles Henry Hart describing his problems painting President Rutherford B. Hayes (1877). Hayes' painting is lost; Eakins' original letter to Hart is in the Art Archives of the Smithsonian. This book was once owned by Gibson Byrd, a Wisconsin artist. His bookplate, book store stamp on inside covers.
