As described by librarylions

Mona Lisa: The Enigma by Serge Bramly. NY: Editions Assouline, 2004. First Edition. 77 pages. Hardcover with dust jacket. "Who is hiding behind the smile? Why the mourning veil? Why the tormented landscape?" Combining closeups with X-rays, copies, and analogies, this study of the Mona Lisa allows us to understand the many facets of this work of art.
