As described by Christopher de Lotbinière's Rare Books

Close Range and Bad Dirt by Annie Proulx. New York: Scribner, 1999 and 2004. First printings. This pair of short story collections, known as "Wyoming Stories" have only been collected recently, but have appeared over the decades in The New Yorker and other magazines, establishing a reputation that has won Proulx a Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award. Perhaps the most famous is "Brokeback Mountain", recently made into a highly successful movie. Both books perfect.
