Why We Love This

The Tribune Primer by Eugene Field, illustrations by John C. Frohn. Boston: Henry A Dickerman Son, 1900. First thus. 96 pages. Hardcover issued without dust jacket. This 1900 edition is scarce and increasingly sought after. Field was editor of The Denver Tribune when he wrote the book in 1882 with an edition of 50 copies. It is a satirical book written in the style of children's books, funny, with a view into the past.

About librarylions

Julie Goldman has been collecting books all her life. As a child, she spent many days haunting the used book stores on 4th Avenue in NYC with her father. Most collectors become booksellers out of necessity, and Goldman began selling about 15 years ago. The library lions are the pair of stone lions who guard the New York Public Library. Their names are Patience and Fortitude. When you place an order with librarylions it will receive the attention and treatment it deserves.
