As described by Barbara Farnsworth

Pleasure Grounds: Andrew Jackson Downing and Montgomery Place edited by Jacquetta M. Haley. Tarrytown, NY: Sleepy Hollow Press, 1988. First Edition. Hardcover. 96 pages, with 14 watercolor sketches, mostly in color, by Downing (1815-1852), who was America's first professional landscape gardener. About his favorite estate in New York's Duchess County. Interesting 19th-century horticultural history. Fine in cloth and a slightly rubbed dust jacket.

About the Seller

Barbara Farnsworth
Barbara Farnsworth

My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
