Hardcover. 96 pages, with 14 watercolor sketches, mostly in color, by Downing (1815-1852), who was America's first professional landscape gardener. About his favorite estate in New York's Duchess County. Interesting 19th-century horticultural history. Fine in cloth and a slightly rubbed dust jacket.
