As described by Christopher de Lotbinière's Rare Books

Out of Africa by Isak Dinesen. New York: Random House, 1938. First U.S. printing. A very good copy of one of the rarest and more famous memoirs ever written. Book's black leather spine is slightly dulled, in lovely rust-colored boards with a golden flamingo embossed to front. Book's pages are in fine condition, with a previous owner's erased name, otherwise excellent. Unclipped jacket is in good condition, with slight darkening to spine, chipping to spine ends, and general edge wear.
