Elizabeth Pepperell: 17 June 1914-24 May 1971 by Maud Reed. London: The Industrial Society, 1973. First Edition. 115 pgs. Hardcover with dust jacket. An early British feminist, Pepperell grew up in poverty, worked in factories, then won a scholarship to the London School of Economics. She was hired by a large company and devoted the rest of her life to improving the lives of the factory workers, through the Industrial Welfare Society.
