Why We Love This

Looking for Lucky by Jane Quigg. Pictures by Connie Moran. Howell, Soskin, 1946. First Edition. 29 pp., hardcover with dust jacket. Illustrated paper over boards and endpapers, full and half-page illustrations throughout. A lost kitten causes her master much grief. Delightful story, wonderful illustrations. Ages 4-8, but a great vintage children's book. Jacket has fading and edge wear. Price-clipped. Light shelf wear. Clean and sound, in great condition.

About L. Brook Rare Books

I've been a dealer in rare books and art for over 30 years. I spent my early years training and providing animals for films, stage and TV. It was great fun, and evolved into a love for finding rare books and art, with a bias towards things "dog, horse and cat." I look for rarity, condition, and price when deciding which items to offer for sale. Uniqueness and value are what will drive my site—and although my love of animals is obvious, I strive to offer items that are diverse and exciting.
