Why We Love This

Kate Carnegie by Ian MacLaren, published by Dodd Mead Co of New York in 1896. Printed in Brooklyn. Beautiful cover decorated with twining bluebells and gilt title and author. 32 illustrations by an uncredited artist - the only hint is on the cover where the initials BMcM appear on a flower stem. Story is set in Scotland with dialect cropping up from certain characters. 358 crisp, clean, strongly bound pages. A beautifully crafted book with a charming cover.
