Why We Love This

Wanted -- A Chaperon by Paul Leicester Ford. New York: Dodd, Mead, and Co., 1902. First Edition. 110 pages. Includes six tissue-guarded color plates by Howard Chandler Christy and page decorations and the front cover design by Margaret Armstrong. Striking example of that era's lavish book design. Very good copy in green boards with Armstrong's floral design in gilt and colors on the front cover. Top edge is gilded.

About Barbara Farnsworth

My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
