Why We Love This

Pittsburgh: The Story of an American City by Stefan Lorant. New York: Doubleday, 1964. First Edition. Hardcover, no dust jacket. The city's history with contributions from H. S. Commager, David Lawrence and others. Signed by Lorant on the half-title page. It was Lorant who in 1956 famously invited photojournalist W. Eugene Smith to participate in this project. Smith worked in Pittsburgh for three years and many of his photographs are included in the book. Crisp, clean and unmarked.
