Why We Love This

Our Street, by Compton Mackenzie. Doubleday, Doran Company, Inc., 1934. A charming memoir about life in London in the late 1800s, specifically "in" Beauclerk Street, West Kensington. Typical of its period, this contains a number of now politically incorrect descriptions, including calling people "golliwogs" or "organ grinders." Charming cover design.
