Stories of the Rabbis by Abram S. Isaacs. New York: Charles L. Webster Company, 1893. 201 pages. Gilt decorated, cloth hardcover, lacking dust jacket. A collection of stories, parables and legends (many with fantasy elements like magic rings and flying carpets) adapted from the Talmud and Midrash. Some of the stories appeared first in popular periodicals of the day. The author was a professor of German and Hebrew at New York University.
