Why We Love This

Ladies Third: Six Weeks in Europe on Six Hundred Dollars by Mary Lena Wilson. New York: Duffield, 1928. 304 pages, with eight full-page black and white drawings plus a frontispiece in color, plus sketches in the text by W.P. Trest, Jr. Eight lighthearted chapters of travel in France and Italy in the 1920s, with an eye-opening appendix of what a young lady spent. Occasional page browning next to illustration pages but a very good copy in green boards and a soiled, worn dust jacket.

About Barbara Farnsworth

My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
