As described by
Song Without Words: The Photographs Diaries of Countess Sophia Tolstoy, by Leah Bendavid-Val. Washington: National Geographic, 2007. First edition, 240 pages of text with 180 photographs reproduced in sepia that were taken by the Countess in the course of her long life with Leo Tolstoy and are like opening a time-capsule. A fine copy in boards and dustjacket.
About the Seller
My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
