As described by
Les Vacances by Madame la Comtesse de Segur. Paris: Librairie Hachette, 1897. 317 pages, with numerous black-and-white illustrations by Bertall, the pseudonym of Charles Albert d'Arnoux, one of the most important French illustrators of the 19th century.
This tale for the young, with the text in French, is a volume in the prestigious Bibliotheque Rose series, and a classic French children's tale. A fine copy, with the spine faded to pink, as usual, and with all edges gilt.
