As described by
The Return to Camelot: Chivalry and the English Gentleman by Mark Girouard. New Haven: Yale University Press, 1981. First American edition, 312 pages, with 32 pages of color illustrations and 179 in black and white, to accompany a brilliant text that shows how medieval chivalric ideals shaped England's renowned politeness throughout the ages. A fascinating volume of social history by a top-notch architectural historian, and a fine copy in boards and dust jacket.
About the Seller
My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
