As described by
The London Rich: The Creation of a Great City, from 1666 to the Present by Peter Therold. New York: St. Martin's Press, 2000. First American edition, 403 pages, with eight pages of color illustrations and with many other black-and-white illustrations in the text. A fascinating social history of how London grew, thanks to the wealthy who started moving outward after the great fire of 1666. A fine copy, as new in boards and dust jacket.
About the Seller
My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
